Following last year’s huge, sold out, 10th anniversary celebration, the Cheltenham-based, independent, green-fields rock festival 2000trees Festival can today announce their 2nd set of acts for this summer’s event.
The festival takes place on July the 6th, 7th and 9th, and the bands announced today, Wednesday March 8th ARE:
THE FRONT BOTTOMS
THE WONDER YEARS
THE HYENA KILL
From THE WONDER YEARS: “We’re incredibly excited to be getting back to England so quickly after our recent headliner to do this wonderful festival.”
From Will Gardner of BLACK PEAKS: “Without a doubt 2000trees has to be one of our favourite UK festivals here at camp BP. We have had the most unbelievable experiences playing there over the years and have worked our way up through the ranks. Now to be asked to come back and play the main stage at trees is not only a privilege but an honour. We have always felt so very at home with 2000trees, be it with the other bands, the incredible audience or the crew working there, we always feel like a gigantic family whenever we are there. We cannot wait to play this gig and i believe we are planning to stick around and party for the whole weekend with everybody this time. Very, very exciting.”
From James Alex of BEACH SLANG: “The first thing I was ever told about 2000 Trees was that it was started by some friends putting on a festival because they were tired of overpaying for the thing they love—music. And I thought, “Fuck yeah! I want to play that.” Look, there will always be a pack of believers cutting through the muck of art & capitalism, a gang of chargers remembering why all this stuff really matters. 2000 Trees, thanks for being one of them.”
From Thom GNARWOLVES: “This year we will be playing 2000 trees for the 3rd time. We love coming back to play because the response is always so great. They put a lot of effort into championing independent UK bands and the atmosphere is awesome! Plus, we’re in the big boy font on the poster for the first time, which is very exciting.”
The first announced co-headliner’s were the brilliant SLAVES and NOTHING BUT THIEVES, who will be co-headlining the main stage on the Friday (NBT’s) and Saturday night (SLAVES). The 2nd set of co-headliners, for the main stage will both be announced later on in March, watch this space for further details.
Already announced bands/acts, are: SLAVES, NOTHING BUT THIEVES, PULLED APART BY HORSES, JAMIE LENMAN, FEED THE RHINO, DINOSAUR PILE-UP, MUNCIE GIRLS, BLACK FOXXES, GRUMBLE BEE, SHVPES, BAD SIGN, BELLEVUE DAYS, WEIRDS, PERSONAL BEST, CASSELS, DOE, FIZZY BLOOD, SOEUR, JONAH MATRANGA, GIANTS, TIGERCUB, THE ONE HUNDRED, QUEEN KWONG, AREA 11, GREYWIND, STRANGE BONES, AWAY DAYS, APOLOGIES I HAVE NONE, THE ST. Festival organiser James Scarlett says: “We had a phenomenal 10th anniversary last year. The atmosphere was so special and the feedback was just incredible, so it was always going to be a tough task to top that, but ALL our efforts have gone into doing just that and we are unbelievably excited for 2017. As a 100% independent festival, we have always sought to maintain the intimate, friendly and fun vibe that sets smaller events apart and we are growing organically with amazing ideas in the pipeline to help 2000trees Festival to really flourish as one of the best small festivals in the UK”
