Alt-J release video for ‘Deadcrush’ from new album ‘Relaxer’

ALT-J have released the new video for DEADCRUSH. The gripping short film is set in a depopulated, post-human world of the far future, where an ageing super computer runs simulations of long-dead historical figures to pass the time. DEADCRUSH is the latest track to be lifted from the band’s third album RELAXER. Released on 2 June, the album flew into the Top 10 of the UK album chart and, in the following weeks, the band performed a sold out London O2 Arena show, then headlined the Other Stage at Glastonbury and the Bluedot Festival.

The band said, “We are very proud to present the video for our new single, Deadcrush. A collaboration between choreographer Darcy Wallace and director / dream weaver Young Replicant, it was shot in a water treatment plant in Essex in June 2017. Enjoy.”

ALT-J – one of the most successful British bands of the millennium – are JOE NEWMAN, THOM GREEN and GUS UNGER-HAMILTON. RELAXER follows THIS IS ALL YOURS, their #1 second album from 2014, and their Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Award-winning debut album AN AWESOME WAVE from 2012. Between them, the two records have sold in excess of two million copies and their songs have been streamed more than one billion times.

The band will spend the rest of the summer headlining festivals across Europe, and recently announced a five date UK tour for September.
