Matthew Halsall & Dwight Trible to play one-off Manchester show

Matthew Halsall & Dwight Trible
Manchester based trumpeter, composer, arranger and band-leader Matthew Halsall teams up with legendary LA vocalist Dwight Trible, who has worked with the likes of Pharoah Sanders and Horace Tapscott and who was most recently heard as lead vocalist on Kamasi Washington’s The Epic. His deeply soulful voice has seen him compared to the likes of Leon Thomas and Andy Bey and Trible brings a vibrant energy to everything he sings. They are joined on tour by special guest, saxophonist and flautist Chip Wickham whose recent release La Sombra has been receiving world-wide acclaim.

Expect deep spiritual jazz, funky soul-jazz classics and beautiful ballads from John Coltrane and Nina Simone to Donny Hathaway and beyond as heard on their forthcoming Gondwana Records release, Inspirations.

‘Kind Of Blue’ meets The Cinematic Orchestra … With hypnotic grooves, and a meditative slow-build to his solos, Halsall’s music is saturated in a life-affirming glow’”. Time Out
