Biffy Clyro Hit Number 1 & Announce Huge Headline Show

Fresh from celebrating their latest number 1 album success for ‘A Celebration of Endings’ , Biffy Clyro have announced they will play Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on Friday 25 th June, 2021 with support from Yungblud, Frank Carter And The Rattlesnakes and Porridge Radio .

Embracing both fresh sonics and the visceral power of their roots, Biffy Clyro’s latest album is ambitiously eclectic. It follows the band’s previous studio sets, ‘Ellipsis’ ( 2016 ) and ‘Opposites’ ( 2013 ), both of which went straight to #1 on the Official Albums Chart .

Joining Biffy Clyro and many other huge acts on Radio 1’s Live Lounge month in September, Yungblud will prove an amazing addition to next June’s bill. Since the release of his debut album ‘21stCentury Liability’ in 2018, Yungblud has fast become the voice of a generation. His latest single, ‘Lemonade’ feat Denzel Curry dropped last week, with a second album due later this year.

Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes are well known for their phenomenal live shows and promise an unforgettable performance at Bellahouston Park. Latest album, ‘End of Suffering’ hit the Top 5 on the UK album chart last year and received glowing praise from music bible NME with the publication saying it “resembles a firework display on this dazzling record” where Carter “continues to mine increasingly sensitive territory, with impressive results.”

First to take to the stage at Bellahouston Park on Friday 25 th June, 2021 will be Porridge Radio , whose second album ‘Every Bad’ was recently nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Biffy Clyro’s number one album slot comes off the back of the first two singles from ‘A Celebration of Endings’ – which had already made a big impact. ‘Instant History’ was premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World and was added straight to Radio 1’s B-list plus the A-list at Absolute , Radio X and Virgin . ‘Tiny Indoor Fireworks’ was also named as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record and was A-listed at Radio 1 . The band have just launched their latest single ‘Space’ along with a visually striking official video.

A Celebration of Endings’ emerged to the strongest reviews of Biffy Clyro’s career. The consensus praised the album’s eclectic style and uplifting positivity at a time when such an outlook is desperately needed. The band subsequently celebrated its release with a worldwide livestream performance, which was full of innovative visual flair and high-end production values.

Biffy Clyro previously headlined Bellahouston Park in 2016 , a show which The Guardian described as a “triumphant set from champions of stadium rock.” This new date represents a huge homecoming show for the band and adds to a touring schedule which includes the intimate and sold-out ‘Fingers Crossed Tour’ plus a Saturday night headline set at Download Festival .
