Boy Jumps Ship announce UK shows

Sunderland rock band BOY JUMPS SHIP are back with their biggest and most ambitious single to date ‘Fashion’.

Vocalist Si explains “‘Fashion’ is about not conforming to the social pressures and stereotypes that are thrown at us today, particularly via social media. A lot of younger people are given the impression that everyone’s life is idealistic, and therefore feel pressured to fit in and confirm to what they are shown is the ‘right way’”

Their bold and anthemic new tune was written in Iceland when the band opted for a change of scenery, gatecrashing their bassist, Jonny Rob’s, modelling trip. The track was then recorded Berlin’s Jazzanova Studios (Lenny Kravitz, Jason Derulo, Lorde) with producer Fish.

Si commented…”We went into this recording process wanting to take more risks and push ourselves into new territories. It’s about being true to yourself no matter what, by following the things you are truly passionate about. It’s a positive message about finding your own place in it all, even if it means stepping into the unknown”.

Hailing from the North-East of England, working class lads, BOY JUMPS SHIP have gained a reputation for their energetic, passionate and exuberant live performances up and down the country and around Europe.

After some huge live dates with Don Broco in Europe, the band are set to take the UK by storm, announcing a run of UK headline dates for later this year.

25th Oct – Leeds Key Club
26th Oct – Edinburgh Mash House
27th Oct – Newcastle O2 Academy 2
1st Nov – London Black Heart
2nd Nov – Bristol Louisiana
3rd Nov – Nottingham Rock City Sunday
4th Nov – Birmingham Sunflower Lounge

Having met at college, BOY JUMPS SHIP are a testament to British grassroots rock. Relentlessly gigging the DIY scene in their initial phase, the band proceeded to release EPs Be Good. Be Gracious as well as Lovers & Fighters. Debut album Wake Up followed in 2016, receiving rave reviews. With new material in the works for next year, FASHION is telling of things to come and showcases a natural progression to a more raw, melodic and anthemic soundscape. BOY JUMPS SHIP are more self-assured and determined than they ever have been, 2018 will be their year.
